Cook to Host Next ‘Solving the Opioid Crisis’ Community Forum
Law enforcement and emergency responders to focus on prosecution
BENTLEYVILLE – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) is inviting concerned citizens from across the 49th Legislative District to join him on Wednesday, Nov. 29, for a very important discussion with district attorneys, sheriffs, other law enforcement personnel and emergency responders to address how and what laws should be changed to combat the opioid epidemic.

Cook’s second “Solving the Opioid Crisis Community Forum” will be held at the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department, 320 Railroad Ave., Stockdale, PA 15483, beginning at 6 p.m.

“We covered addiction treatment during our October meeting, and this time around we will be focusing on the subject of prosecution,” said Cook. “We’ll be talking with local EMTs and others on the front lines about which laws need to be changed and enforced to keep people from illegally acquiring opioids; what needs to be done to keep drug peddlers off of our streets; and, finally, what needs to happen at the legislative level to give our emergency responders and law enforcement the tools they need to combat this terrible epidemic. We strongly encourage anyone who has been impacted by the opioid epidemic to attend this very important community forum.”

Seating is limited. Interested individuals should register for this FREE event as soon as possible by calling Cook’s Bentleyville district office at (724) 669-2242.
