HARRISBURG - Rep. Bud Cook (R-Fayette/Washington) announced today that Dunlevy Borough in Washington County will benefit from $40,000 from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) for further development of the Walnut Street Park.

The project will include the installation of playground equipment with required safety surfacing, ADA access and related site improvements such as, new fencing along the western border of the park, a new parking space off Walnut Street and a new basketball goal.

“I am excited to share that Dunlevy Borough has received this grant,” said Cook. “Our township parks are at the center of our communities and are a recreational destination for many families. Keeping our parks up-to-date and safe is vital to continue to encourage community involvement. I was happy to advocate for these funds.”

DCNR’s Bureau of Recreation and Conservation builds connections between citizens and the outdoors by providing funding and technical assistance support for local recreation and park improvement projects through its Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants.
