House Game and Fisheries Committee Public Hearing to Be Hosted in 49th District, Announces Cook

BELLE VERNON – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Fayette/Washington) announced today that the House Game and Fisheries Committee will be hosting a public hearing on the issue of new Saturday Opening Day of the rifle deer season.
The committee, of which Cook is a member, will be hosting the public hearing at the Mon Valley Career and Technical Center, 5 Guttman Ave. in Charleroi. The hearing will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5-7 p.m.
“I am excited that the committee is able to have this very important discussion here in the 49th,” said Cook. “This is an issue that affects our hunters, and I believe this public hearing will give us an opportunity to hear the pros and cons from both sides of the issue.”
The committee will be receiving testimony from various organizations and is open to the public.
