HARRISBURG – In his third letter to Gov. Tom Wolf, Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) called on the governor to have faith in “We the People” and give hard-working Pennsylvanians the opportunity to get back to work.
Cook is planning to send a package to the governor’s office that includes correspondence from a small business owner in his district who has been forced to close his business due to the governor’s business shutdown mandate.
“I want our governor to see how his business shutdown mandate is affecting everyday real people,” said Cook. “This is just one example of the thousands of small businesses in our region who are begging to be allowed to reopen. The only thing standing in their way is big government. We have to trust our business owners with the ability to reopen their businesses safely and smartly. They’re willing to follow whatever health guidelines necessary. Let’s give them the chance – let’s trust ‘we the people’ again.”
Cook plans to send the package via certified mail, to ensure that the administration receives the package.
“Hopefully this way, he’ll get the message,” said Cook.
