Cook Seeks Changes to Local Share Account Procedures
November 19, 2020
HARRISBURG – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) is seeking changes to Local Share Account (LSA) procedures in Washington County.
“I have requested the records of 433 projects funded by the LSA of casino gambling in Washington County in an effort for our government to remain fair, transparent and accountable, and have received pushback from the Redevelopment Authority,” said Cook. “Our LSA money is administered by the Washington County Redevelopment Authority, which is a government entity subject to the requirements of the Right-to-Know Law (RTKL).”
Cook sent a letter to the Washington County Commissioners to not only remind them that the records were requested, but to spark some changes to the LSA selection process. “I want our LSA selection process to be a program we can be proud of and hope that other counties will follow in our footsteps,” continued Cook.
Cook is seeking a copy of any updates and changes to the process that were suggested, an indication as to whether any of the suggested changes have been implemented and an indication of whether the Washington County Redevelopment Authority intends to make changes prior to the upcoming year’s selection process.
