Oct. 18, 2021
WHAT: Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) will hold a press conference titled “Come On Man, it’s the People’s Money” to explain what Local Share Accounts (LSA) are and his findings on the grant process from the last five years.
As of Oct. 1, there are millions of unaccounted funds dating back to 2015. County officials have authorized the spending of thousands of dollars to keep the public from seeing records as to where these funds are going. Cook has questioned why action hasn’t been taken to correct the discrepancies, suspicious of conflicts of interest in the grant process along the way.
Cook will also detail why these grants are important to the 49th District; where the money comes from and where it goes; and next steps for making sure the grant application process is fair, accountable and transparent.
WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m.
WHERE: Washington County Courthouse, 1 S. Main St., Washington, PA 15301.
LIVE WEBSTREAMING: Will be available, barring technical difficulties, at
