WASHINGTON AND FAYETTE COUNTIES – In a recent press release issued by the Greene County Board of Elections, the public was made aware that two political advocacy groups, the Voter Participation Center (VPC) and the Center for Voter Information (CVI), would be conducting unsolicited direct mailings to Pennsylvania residents. The mailings will consist of voter registration applications and/or mail ballot applications.
Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) issued the following statement:
“In the Commonwealth, we have very accessible ways to vote in elections. Residents can vote in-person, by mail or by absentee ballot, and the Legislature has been working very hard to make sure that all voting methods are secure.
“I am passionate about ensuring fair, secure elections and protecting individual privacy, and I encourage constituents to protect their personal identifying information by communicating directly with their county Bureau of Elections.
“I am pleased that the Greene County Board of Elections has issued a statement on the matter. I support their efforts and will work to stop these mailings in Southwestern Pennsylvania.”
