HARRISBURG – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Greene) today announced Greene County has been awarded a $66,500 grant for trail development.
The Community Conservation Partnerships Program grant will enable the county to prepare a trail study for the development of approximately 9 miles of the Greene River Trail in Cumberland and Monongahela townships, Greene County, from Old Ferry Road in Monongahela Township to State Route 21 in Cumberland Township.
“Outdoor recreation opportunities abound in our region, and this is an important investment in preserving and expanding those opportunities,” Cook said. “It’s another great reason to ‘Come Home and Go Big!”
The funding was part of $3.2 million awarded by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources statewide.
