HARRISBURG – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington) today applauded a grant awarded to Marianna Borough, Washington County, to study the potential for developing an all-terrain vehicle trail system there.
The grant of $37,500 was awarded through the ATV and Snowmobile Grant Program provided through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ (DCNR).
“Our region is blessed with many assets, attractions and activities,” Cook said. “I applaud the folks in Marianna Borough for looking to expand on the activities it already offers to both residents and visitors.”
Cook also noted DCNR is now accepting applications for its fall grant round. The program awards grants from the ATV and Snowmobile Management Restricted Accounts for projects proposing land acquisition, planning, development, rehabilitation, maintenance, equipment purchase or educational programs for ATV or snowmobile trails and facilities.
Eligible applicants include for-profit organizations, nonprofit organizations and municipalities in the Commonwealth.
Proposals must be submitted via DCNR’s online grant application portal
apps.dcnr.pa.gov/grants/ no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.
