COAL CENTER – Noting the importance of investing in the community’s and the Commonwealth’s future leaders, Rep. Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington) today applauded a $1.5 million grant awarded to the California Academy of Learning Charter School in Coal Center.

“We are proud supporters of CAL Charter School, having walked the halls when only a few students were enrolled and now having witnessed firsthand the positive impact it is having on our students, families and the broader community thanks to the unique partnership between the school and the district,” Cook said during an event highlighting the award Thursday.

“This grant award is a testament to the school’s dedication to excellence and its relentless pursuit of educational advancement, ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential,” he added.

The funding will help the school expand its programs, invest in cutting-edge technology and continue to offer personalized learning experiences.

The Pennsylvania Charter Schools Program (PACSP) Grant is funded through the federal Every Student Succeeds Act and is administered by the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools.
