Cook to Host Data Center Discussion Thursday

October 26, 2026

WAYNESBURG – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington) is inviting residents of the 50th Legislative District to participate in an informational meeting on data centers.

The meeting takes place on Thursday, Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m. at the California Borough Building, 225 Third St., California.

“The point of this informational meeting is to walk through both the advantages and draw-
backs of data centers,” Cook said. “We are not interested in taking a position; we are interested in having an open and honest discussion so residents can make informed decisions about issues affecting our area.”

The meeting will feature presenters from the following offices: Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Pittsburgh Technology Council.

“We get questions frequently to our offices, and there is a lot of discussion about data centers and what they could mean for our communities,” Cook said. “This meeting gives residents an opportunity to hear different perspectives, ask questions and have an open conversation about an issue that is getting a lot of attention.”
