Cook Hosts Trout in the Classroom Informational Event

March 9, 2017

On Wednesday, State Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) partnered with local educators and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to showcase Trout in the Classroom and several other educational pilot programs designed to enhance student interest in fishing and other outdoor activities at Bethlehem Center Middle School.

“The educational development and the safety of our school students remain serious tasks for both parents and educators,” said Cook, who is currently serving on the House Game and Fisheries Committee. “Every day our youth continue to face issues, such as the Mon Valley’s drug epidemic, that can lead them down potentially damaging pathways. As a way to promote healthy alternatives to these challenges, I am encouraging increased community participation in these hands-on pilot programs that are not only educational, but also important in sustaining our region’s abundant creeks, streams, rivers and wildlife.”
