Many Thanks for Successful Open House and Ribbon Cutting

I want to thank everyone, especially our main man Ben (pictured with me above), and the nearly 80 local residents, friends, neighbors and family members for stopping by our Bentleyville district office open house and ribbon cutting this past Tuesday evening.

My objective from day one as your state representative has been to hit the ground running. As a first-term lawmaker, hosting this legislative open house was a great way for me to meet and get acquainted with even more of the citizens I serve.

Our regular district office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Just some of our available services include:
  • Assistance with PennDOT paperwork (lost cards, changes, corrections, special registration plates, vanity plates and temporary placards for persons with physical disabilities).
  • Information and applications for senior citizen benefit programs, including Property Tax/Rent Rebate and PACE/PACENET prescription drug programs.
  • Help with securing birth and death certificates (photo identification required).
  • Information about legislation.
  • Assistance with resolving matters relating to state agencies.

The people of the 49th District should know that my staff and I are here to do everything we possibly can to meet and exceed your expectations both at home and in Harrisburg.

Veterans Registry Helps Put Vets in Touch with Services

Thousands of Pennsylvania veterans have been better connected to benefits, programs and services, thanks to an online registry launched a year ago by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA).

Registration is conveniently available by using a computer or mobile device and visiting www.register.dmva.pa.gov. The process takes just a couple of minutes and includes the registrant providing basic information such as name, age, home address, email address, etc.

Registrants can choose to have their information shared with their county director for veterans affairs and other relevant state agencies. They can also opt to receive timely, informative emails regarding local, state and national news; program updates; community events; and employment opportunities available specifically for veterans.

Pennsylvania is home to nearly 900,000 veterans.

Program Offers Assistance with Septic Systems

The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST), together with the Department of Environmental Protection and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, offers a program with low-interest loans to homeowners to cover the costs associated with repairing or replacing on-lot septic systems.

Assistance is available to eligible homeowners who need to repair or replace their individual on-lot septic system or to connect for the first time to a public sewer system.
